During the month of June, we experienced our 130th COVID-19 recovery, which coincides with a celebration in recognition of National Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) Week. Our CNAs do so much to support both our residents and our staff and we couldn’t have endured this pandemic without their compassion and work ethic. This COVID-19 pandemic has presented unprecedented challenges for our CNAs as they cared for our extremely vulnerable resident population. They undertook a heroic task on the front lines of this pandemic and I offer my deepest gratitude for their service.
A Safe Path Forward Three-Step Plan is being finalized and will be communicated within the next week. Based on the criteria Birmingham Green uses for our Safe Path Forward plan, in Step 1—we will be expanding our small group activities to both, indoors and outdoors; will have virtual and window visitation arrangements, except for compassionate care situations (in-person arrangements are allowed). These activities and guidance for safely undertaking them – will be outlined in our Safe Path Forward 3 step plan.
Juneteenth this year marks its 155th anniversary. This month, Governor Ralph Northam announced that he is taking action to make it an official state holiday.
Our vision, clearly asks that we commit to maintaining a work environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. Doing our part to defeat systemic racism is a core element of our strategy to create an inclusive environment where all team members are engaged, performing at high levels, and where differences add value to our organization as a whole.
Best,
